I agree. I feel that your engine compartment is the heart of your car. when someone wants to look over your car the motor is one of the first things they want to look at. I have spent hours trying to fill all of the unwanted bolt holes and rust holes to clean up my engine bay. I am kind of **** and like attention to detail. I just want a show quality daily driver that is good to look at yet functions properly.

But you have to realize that members here on the classic section have differing ideas in how an engine bay and running gear should look like. Again, thereis the modification crowd, and there is the original crowd. Please don't start another war that I have to referee.

wtf what? Are you deaf or can't read? If you have been involved with the wars on here you will understand, if not then don't bother getting involved.

It's all about aestetics. You can hack up the wiring harness and modify it to accept all kinds of changes, and still make itvisually appealing. In this photo (Pre EFI), the harness feedthrus to the underdash unit have been covered, all wiring hidden under the passenger fender and up through the headlight bucket, The battery is turned sideways using a 69 tray, solenoid is relocated out of sight, electric fan installed, one wire alternator, deleted voltage regulator, and a pertronics installed.
Modified, but not appearing 'hacked up'.

That is nice james. Clean look with not alot of clutter to take away from the motor. I hope I can do as nice a job.

Like I stated above I suck with electrical and would rather buy a kit off the rack than risk burning my car to the ground by doing something stupid like trying to modify something that I dont know anything about.
Oh..and to answer your question...

Check out Ryan's site here. He's got the kits to do this swap to a bigger alternator.

Sure you can James. But that doesn't make your engine the defining restomod that everyone is looking for. There are a ton of modified mustangs out there that have the same mods you have, Does that make yours special. Obviously not.

I got mine set up exactly like that from an oldtimmer at an alternator shop in Houston told him what i was trying to do he told me to do that exact thing got a rebuilt alternator from him out of a tauras it is a little bigger you can also get a 95Amp alternator that is exactly the same size. One thing he didnt metion was the fuse that that is something i will probally add.

One thing the 130A alternator isn't threaded so you will have to put a nut and bolt on the slide, but the 95A is threaded.
