T5 Swap cost
For those of you who have swapped out the c4 for a t5!
What did it cost you?
Was it worth it?
Any trouble with the T5 after the install?
This swap will be for a 66 with c4 any extra trouble being a 66?
Thanks
Gun

depends on what route you take, if you go to a junkyard and grab a t5 out of a fox mustang and get a cheap adapter kit then not a whole lot, but if you go the more expensive route and buy a rebuilt t5 or world class t5 (which is what i would do) its gonna costa little more
i plan on having a 5 speed in my stang, everyone who has done it has seemed to be pretty happy

the 87-93 t5's from the 5.0s are world class t5s

Definately worth it. Gives you a lower first gear, and then let's you run a higher rear end gear. Highway cruizing at 2000 rpms feels great, and instantly improves gas mileage.
As already stated, cost can range from 1000 to 3000 depending on new vs used parts, and use of kits vs personally built applications.
One of the top 3 or 4 mods you can do to a daily driver...

Unless originality is very important to you (I'm guess itprobably isn't based on your avatar), skip the original clutch linkage and go straight to a cable setup like Mustang Steve's. Not only does it perform better with less cable effort, but it will actually be easier and a bit cheaper. If you're lucky you can find a tranny, bellhousing and clutch release lever from a junkyard.
If you don't want to scrounge the junkyards yourself, you can pick up most of these parts used off of Ebay or you can go to http://www.car-part.com/, which is a database of junk parts, and order them direct.
