Default Classic owners, A question for you...

Hello All...I had a quick question for the group, and hopefully someone will be able to help me. I am currently restoring a non-Mustang, and I am searching for a gas tank. I would rather not go with a fuel cell and interfere with my trunk space. Does anyone know of a company that makes tanks for vintage cars? (Specifically a 1972 Demon 340).

Thanks for anyadvice that any of youlend, even though its not a mustang.

It won't be cheap (gas tanks rarely are), but Aero Tanks builds custom tanks.

They are popular cars to restore so I'll bet you can get a repop tank. Have you googled? For a mopar discussion group check out

yeah...ive gone through google, and i found one site that looks decent.

www.classicautoparts.com

my only concern with that site, is that i havent found anyone who has dealt with them before.

I just thought that it was worth asking in here, in case anyone knows of a reputable company...if i ask at a dodge site, ill get a bunch of people PM'ing and emailing me trying to sell me junk that they have laying around...and allpar is as bad as it gets as mopar sites go. i know one of the people who "writes content" for them, and they do little more than publish opinions and rumors as facts...and the information that they have that is correct is basic public knowledge. many of the terrible rumors floating around which pertain to the release of the new challenger come from the morons at allpar.

Would you be able to fit one from a Dart or Duster? I'm not too familiar with the car and if they share all that much. Forgive me if I just sounded stupid[8D]

Sort of...Im sure that lots of them would technically fit, even from other vehicles with different chassis setups. The Demon does share a tank with some similar year models, but some cars had early emissions control items which used a different tank.

Here's one for $188.00. Not too bad for a new tank. It's the first one at the top of the page Pat.

Thank you Glen.

Do you know of anyone who has dealt with that company, or have you dealt with them yourself?

No I don't, and I haven't. It's a Mopar gas tank site for Christ's sake.
