Default OH NO!!!

So Im using my Fathers air compressor to do some random orbital saning on the mustang and it dies. I think that I siezed up a bearing in the motor . The problem is not that its broken. ITs that it is my dad's I feel real bad but cant really afford a brand new compressor. It was just a 20 gal campbell hausfeld but if someone has something similiar sitting around that they no longer use and want to sell please let me know. I need a used compressor.

If the motor froze, just replace the motor. Not a hard job, just make sure you buy a motor rated for compressor duty.

Just to make sure you've tried this, most motors have a little red button on them ...basically a breaker...have you tried pushing it to see if mabye you got the motor too hot and it flipped?
hope this helps

Have you tried to turn it over by hand to see if it is froze. If it is stuck I would take off the belt to see what is stuck. The electric motor or the compressor.

Did you have your father's permission to use his compressor? If so, then what's the problem? It would have broken on him just as well as with you. Check to see if maybe you accidently hit an on/off switch. I have one on my compressor you can see here. Also check the outlet in the wall to make sure the house fuse didn't trip. Check the fuse on the compressor.

I know where he is coming from wanting to fix or replace. If I borrow something I want to return it in the same condition as I got it in. I have had friends borrow stuff from me and break it and they are like sorry man. It burns my butt and I wont loan to them again.

More than likely it will be a breaker and not a fuse. Really showing your age there Soaring....hehehe...

I think dnswwood is on to something.

The breaker on mine will throw if I so much as use a standard extension cord (as opposed to a heavy duty gauge cord). That's probably what it is. Find the button and reset it (like the breaker on a surge protector).
