An article on "Playmate Pink" special order color in 1967
http://www.mustangmonthly.com/featur...rtible_review/
Ford liked the idea so in 1968 they offered it as a color of the month, February of course. One site said only 10 were produced.

This site has the PPG paint code. PPG dealers have the formulas for these codes so they can blend paint to match the original.

You do have a rare car, but does that make it valuable? Only the buyer knows. Personally, I would keep it stock.

Northern Indiana!!!! I live right around there. I think that you should restore the thing to original. I would love to see that thing rolling around my neighborhood some summer afternoon. Like you said. I havent seen a pink mustang rolling around indiana yet. And Ive lived here for 18 years.

Thank you all very much for the feedback. I was leaning towards the factory original restoration, but had some doubt as to whether it was worthwhile. I am now fully convinced and will definately be restoring it.

Hi mlwood98,
Thank you for deciding to RESTORE another piece of American History (or pop culture, which ever you prefer).

Assemblethe history of the car. You'll be surprised at how much former owners will LOVE talking to you about "the one that got away". Each may be able to put you in touch with the person or dealership that THEY bought it from.

Assemble some national data, such as where and when it was built and how many were built in that year. The Stand Catalog Of Ford is a great resource for DETAILS.Ford is a great source of general data. No, they will NOT tell you how many cars were painted in your specific shade, but they will produce build sheets and the like based on your VIN.

Take a bajillion pictures NOW. No matter how rusted/busted/screwed up your ride is now, having an archive of before and after pictures will make you and others appreciate what you're doing and have done, even more.

Lastly, from what I've read on the web today, there weremore than ten and less than one hundred of these cars FROM THE FACTORY. You have a unique opportunity to be either an originator of or major participant in, a group of enthusiasts and owners of this rare vehicle.

Wow. You're gonna have a lotta fun
