Looks like they tried to fix some rusty spots or patched by brazing. Brazing will cause disimmilar metal corrosion. The bad news is that there are probably other hidden brazing treasures. You will have to cut out those sections and getthem patched and welded in correctly. Fun Fun

I have already found many similar spots. I will hopefully finish sand blasting this weekend. I have the undercarriage blasted and the bottom half of the engine compartment. Even though I spent weeks scraping undercoating it is still a pain to remove the remaining residue with the blaster. Then the layers of bondo dont strip too easily. I am paying someone to strip my next car. I feel for you grimm but I have already cut out and replaced alot of that cancer and am finding more hidden under the paint that the PO painstakenly covered so nicely for me to find.

I pulled the door today and found this. It was a combination of brazing and bondo.

Tony i had the same problem someone had the door open and backed up with it and slamed the hinge and cracked that column and they brazzed it you need to melt that all off and mig weld it back up and grind it back down.

I found a donor at the local mustang shop. He is going to let me cut it out and a couple other parts I need. I would feel better replacing it than trying to put a band aid on it.

Rust hates us all...

Thats the inside of my suspension tunnel, the little "cup" that holds dirt and other crap off the road. Looked even worse when I took the loose rust/dirt/scale off it...
