Default Help with my 1967 Mustang

Okay I need some help people...

first things first...I bought a 67 mustang convertible about a month ago it runs good and everything. But its a 3spd and I want to change it to a automatic. The Mechanic I go to told me I would need the new tranny and a shift-kit. So my question on that since most of you know well about this...which auto tranny would be best..so far Ive heard the C6...andAOD... I would also like to know the price range for the tranny and the shift-kit and do any of you have any websites I can buy these parts from. It would help alot because my mechanic said all I need is the tranny and the shift-kit and he'll install it for me.

Also my cousin was mentioning putting a cobra jet engine in the car...? where do u stand on that? good or bad idea? possible not possible?...

Thanks alot for your time... It would help alot if u can provide websites.

it would be easier to take the drive train out of a fox body stang and drop it in the car.

a nice c-4 with a small stall and a shift kit and a big trans cooler will do you well all for about 500-750 I would guess plus you'll need the shifter and linkage

get a TCI custom built C-4 they are bullit proof for street use. I ran one on my old 67 coupe with a 289 hipo ported and polished heads custom ground crank manly pro flo valves 194 160 comp cam roller rockers ect. The motor produced over 325 hp and the tranny held up to all the abuse I could give it 6500 rpm shifts 2500 rpm stall converter it was a kick as trans The street fighter series
