help 65 289 surges when hot
Sorry, I'm gonna look at the obvious. . June, traffic,2 core radiator. If the thermostat is original, replace it, probably not fully opening, cheap and easy ($15). Consider a heat spacer between the card and manifold, sounds like your purcolating fuel. Best fix, toss the 2 core radiator for a 4 core, $200-250. Don't forget to change the fan spacer too, and put in a shroud.
thanks for all the advise I am going to check the manifold for leaks and also the A/F ratio to a richer mix. Just to be on the safe side I am going to change the thermastat ,when I get that far I'll see where I am at then Thank you all for the help
I should do this by the weekend then I will post what happened

Update I checked for vac leaks first to be on the safe side I removed the intake manifold and replaced the gasket, replaced the thermostat, and did a intake manifold vac test it was to spec. I havent had a chance to drive it yet.So I will see what happens ......If that doesnt work I will be checking the jet next and adjusting them for a richer mix. Any advise on tuning the carb and choke setting
