WHAT IS IT WORTH
ORIGINAL: 428coupe
I thought the GT 500s came with a 428, not a 390. I may be wrong though.

The original GT 350's had a modified 289 K code engine that got just over 300 horsepower. That is the only engine they ever had because the 302, 351, 390, 428 or whatever had not even been invented. Now, starting in 67 the GT 500 got the 390.

Nope, the 67 and 68 GT-500's came with a 428 CID engine. It is rumored that Ford may have stuck in a 390 in 1968 GT-500's due to a 428 shortage. I don't know, it's a rumor. The aftermarket did put 427 CID engines in 68 GT-500.
