Thanks for the tips. I am planning on seriously reinforcing the strut towers. I am fabricating my own strut tower braces and subframe connectors. I am also fabricating the rear suspension setup. I have to replace the frame rails, so i can start from scratch and build it the way i want.

Before you weld up the subframe connectors, make sure the existing frame rails are within the specified dimensions. The dimension are in the 65 Comet, Falcon, Fairlane and Mustang Service manual.

If you're going with the T56 here's a couple things to keep in mind. First, since you'll need a new bellhousing/driveline etc, get a new clutch(I'm assuming you're planning on thisanyway) but I know the TKO's have at least 2 different spline counts for input shaft, so make sure you get a clutch with the right spline count for the tranny input shaft. Also, a new flywheel wouldn't hurt, preferably something that can take a 10.5" clutch(at least), since if you end up putting some bigger power in it later on a 10" may not hold(unless you get a really pricey high performance clutch). Also, use a clutch cable, hydraulic is nice as well, but don't get the slip/bolt on style. I have that and the whole slave/tob slip over the input shaft on the tranny and you have to measure this and that and screw a sleeve in or out to set the tob clearance, and if it's wrong you gotta pull the tranny to reset it blah blah....it's a real pain. Also, you'll need more gear in your differential. Like I said before about how much tranny the T56 is, that 6th gear is a pretty steep overdrive if you have too tall of a gear in the differential, you won't be able to even use 6th gear without bogging the engine down unless you're going at a very high speed where you can keep the rpm up. Don't be afraid about not enough gear either, the extra overdrive will help with that. Also, you can get T56's for mechanical speedo, so you'd just need to get the right gear.

67, the only problem with the taller gears is the IRS i am running in the rear. The factory doesnt reccomend anything more than a 3:27. I am going to go with either a 3:55 or 3:73 which is taller than reccomended. However, it is not at the 4:11 load. I cut my teeth in FWD dodge cars and have some halfshaft experience, so this is not all that new to me.
