headers and exhause for a 69 help!!
i looked on their website and there were no long tube ceramic coated for a 69 with a 351 theyre all for 302s or 289s. does it really matter if i used ones for a 301? if someone could give me a link or something for them id really appreciate it. I did not see the x pipe exhaust either. links to these parts would help out alot

I wouldnt use long tubes on a street engine. better torque from tri-y style and better clearance in most cases. http://www.pacemaker.com.au/faq.html#design
btw, you need 351 headers for clearance...the deck height is slightly higher than a 302/289.
I am yet to be convinced of the benefits of an x-pipe on a street engine either. an h-pipe is a lot cheaper exercise.
are you planning on buying a kit and fitting it yourself?
we had a post on this topic a while back and the general consensus was to get a decent exhaust shop to make an exhaust for you. The main thing is to go to a guy with experience on these cars, not some "rice" shop that specializes in bolt on fart cans.

a tri y will give you more power a x pipe is always a good idea.aussie a x pipr helps suck the exhaust out more then a h does. and a x pipe has more power then a h.he is right find a good exhaust shop to run the pipes or buy a bolt on kit and do it yourself.
yeh i get how the x is supposed to work and it sounds like a good theory, but on a street engine i cant see it making that much difference. diffrent story ona race motor. I'd like to see before/ after dyno sheets with no other changes.
most factory twins have an h to balance. i've never seen a factory x. not raining on anyones parade, just never seen evidence that they are worth the extra $.

c5 and up corvette is a x i believe i think the newer mustangs do not really sure on that.mine im runing long tube headers with glass packs and turn downs before the axle no x or h pipe.
i was runnign twin out the back, no h. changed it b/c i didnt like the exhaust note! Sounded like a speed boat.
my exhaust guy claims the h has a scavenging effect at best and balances the sound at worst. it def sounds better now, but no dyno to be sure of benefit.
I have a 351C in another car with no h and it sounds real lazy. one day i will rebuild that engine and try a few different combos

May want to post your question on below site - site specifically for 69/70s.
