Gauge the Gage, Your thoughts please
Had a problem with my original 42 years old fuel quant. Xmitter/float so I decided to buy a new one at NPD. In order to varify that indeed it was the Xmitter I grounded the fuel gage and it showed "FULL"
telling meIT,was not the problem. I connected the new Xmitter and moved the float all the way to it's up position- observing the fuel gage indicating "FULL"
So I installed the new Xmitter/float and connected eveything like it was before and now I dont get more than 3/4 full even with a full tank (fuel is spilling out of the neck - full).
I do not know of any Float calibration procedure.... Is there any? How do I gauge the gage?
Thanx

Aren't they just a PITA......
Could be that when you installed the unit in the tank, that you got it slightly tilted when hammering the lock ring. When that happens, it doesn't raise correctly. May want to take it out, mark up/down, and reinstall.
