Default 69 Restoration



Hi folks I just purchased a 69 convertible 351V8 and am looking to increase engine performance (ie incr the stock 290hp) Any suggestions on what I can do (keep in mind that I am a newbie to this<IMG onclick="AddSmileyIcon'smileys/smiley2.gif'" alt=Wink src=smileys/smiley2.gif border="0"> </P>


also does anyone have suggestion for a good resotaration shop in the Los Angeles area.</P>

290 HP stock from a 351? Must be a cleveland. Cam / Intake / Carb / Exhaust is the best way to get great performance from any non EFI motor. A good combo like this can easily net you another 75 or 100 hp, especially if you have the 4v heads. Check out some catalogs, it sure is ALOT cheaper topump those baby's up than the efi cars.</P>

Correction - it is a windsor 4Barrel- the cleavland came into prod in 1970 @300 HP

Change the cam, bigger valves, port and polish the heads, have the crank reground and better pistons and rods, add a twin 4bbl intake and top it with two edlebrock carbs.
