Default Please Help Me!

Hi
I am have a big problem with my 66 mustang fastback. I just had engine rebuilt this winter, and everything is finally tuned right and running good... i was leaving a car show on sunday, and as i was pullin out of the parking lot(not doing anything stupid) and something happen with the engine. It completely died at the stop sign. and it started right back up, but it sounds horrible, and i can barely keep it running? i thought maybe a spark plug came undone, but everything looks good and is tight? maybe its the timing or something, sounds like maybe runnin on 7 cylinders? i am completely lost, and frustrated. any ideas on what it could be? my dad doesnt think its in the engine, he said it sounds like timing, but its a brand new msd distributor? everything was fine, and then this happens. please help! any advise would be great. thanks again for all of the help!

Did you wash the engine before the show?

You might check for water in the distributor cap. My son did that a while back, took a little while to find the issue. Water in the cap will evaporate and condense causing inconsistent issues....

If you hae the MSD box have that checked out. I guy I work with says hes had to replace alot of them, but mine has been on my car for 8 years now with no problems at all so I 'm not sure why hes had so many problems. Other that that timing doesn't usally move unless the engine is doged or the hold down was left loose or a very hard crash.

Also check your engine ground cable to see if it's secure.
