Need some advice
i have a 68 fastback to which im doing a conversion of a 03 cobra motor/tranny...........i bought an IRS from this outfit in Phoenix, telling me and reconfirming that their unit is from a 03 cobra..........i didn't want any year except 03/04..............so i paid 1750 including shipping )they said it had 20k miles on it.........now several months later and I am about to take it to the shop, a friend comes over and says that doesn't look like a 03.......do some research its from a 99 cobra......now its been months do I have recourse, its a big outfit, what should i do?
Does your receipt or other documentation received from the company specify a year?
The shop may decide to "fix" the problem, but I think you are out the freight in any case.... unless they are really nice folks who are willing to admit their error.

Have you called the company? I imagine for something that large, it might have a warranty or something. If not, you could always try to sell it and make some money back, or take it to court. I'll bet though, if you have documentation that they said it was from an 03 and it's not, they will fix the problem (because they know you would win in court

It sounds like you bought a junk yard engine, If so most junk yard only warranty for 30 days. Also if it was a junkyard the motor could have been swaped before the car went to the junkyard. Al you can really do is talk to them and see what they will do for you.
