Default 351C Timing Cover Gaskets

Hey, I was freshening up my 351C in my 69 (changing water pump, fuel pump, timing cover gaskets, valve cover gaskets, etc.) Anyways, I had to change the crank seal cause it was leaking. Is there a trick to putting the timing cover back on? I have tried to dry fit it but that bottom seal (oil pan seal) always gets in the way and the alignment studs don't match up. What am I doing wrong?

i have tried every possible way to get that on without removing the oil pan, i can safely say that you have to remove the cross member and remove the pan to get it on
