Default Electronic Navigation Systems

The fact that I've lived in the same house for 16 years now (birthday was on sunday) hardly registers on my paying attention. I could get lost going places that I've been hundreds of times. So, I'm wondering if any of you guys know a good place to get a good deal on navigation systems.

I'm talking about going to a store to get one, not with a car.

I know that a good brand is Garmin.... Just check out Ebay or Craigslist. In the meantime, mapquest is your friend.

I role in the same boat as you.. but I chose not to waste any money on a navigation system... You can always get a phone like the iphone, trio, etc. I just rely on my friends and parents with pestering phone calls starting with "i'm lost" and constantly print out mapquests.

For the money, the TomTom One is supposed to be pretty good. Unlike the more expensive models, it does not have text to speech (i.e. it doesn't announce streets by name).
