Default Carb Bowl Deposits What is Causing it?

Been having problems lately with my car starting after warmed up. Thought it was vapor lock - but in looking at it today it was definitely flooding. Pulled back bowl off and what a mess - brown deposits and inside of bowl is flaking. New Holley 600 on 289 performer just put on last year.Front bowl clean as a whistle. What do you think is causing it? Last month put a 1" spacer on it - not sure if coincidence or not. My guess is that I'm going to need complete rebuild or new carb but I would like toknow root cause. Any help would be appreciated. thanks

garbage in tank or fuel line,,,need to think about new gas line or new tank ,,, personally I hot tanked ( acid bath) my gas tank and it bit me a couple years later, new tank costs more up front, along with new gas line, but aggravation facters finally went away

Fairly new tank, all new lines, and new filter. Only in back bowl - front is clean as a whistle.

how about fuel pump,, the one that was orignal on my car had as it turned ou a reserve sediment area? of about 1 inch ? and stuff would eventually hit the carb,, sounds weird but something to check/tink about? freaked when I discovered that one and new pumps got the same one way thing but smaller

It's caused frpm debris in tank or fuel line. Need to think about new gas line or new tank perhaps, or a good cleaning.

Fogot to mention new fuel pump too. I replace all gas parts last year. Why would front bowl look so clean while back bowl the metal is flaking? Take a close look - metal flakaing off does not appear to be from corroded gas.

Was a brand new carb - not a rebuilt. I'm leaning toward factory FU? That's what I'll be pushing with auto parts palce. Just not sure how that can be.

does a lot of sitting - basically a weekend driver. Sits all winter. Still not sure why front bowl would look good and back does not.
