the 8124 IS the ap not the a+p...... so it was a goof in the naming of the intake model on your part that started all the confusion.... i think?[&:][&:][8D]

thats right, jegs has it listed wrong though. check out the weiand section on holley.com and you'll see there is a action plus (which you bought) and the action +plus

damn weiand and their confusion

Yeah, Weiand did make it confusing, they shoulda just dc'd the old one or come up with a different name, like the Action Plus Gen II or some crap. And yeah on the looking like a better breather....when I took it out of the box, I was like, what? It's supposedly a low profile dual plane, but it sits almost as high as an RPM Air Gap. It's definately not flat. I guess all that computational fluid dynamic modeling they did when they designed it paid off?

well i thought it looked striking similar to the edelbrock performer rpm, and they compare it to an edelbrock part number in the ad (which they say it outperforms).

i may pic one up eventually providing its not taller than the regular RPM (my air cleaner stud rubs on my hood as is [>:]

They compare it to the Performer(not the RPM) and it obviously beats down the Performer pretty hard if what they say is true. How it stacks up against an RPM though....maybe performs almost as well, but in a lower rpm range would be my guess. As far as size, it's about as tall, maybe a bit shorter than a standard RPM, I know the RPM air gap is a bit taller than the 8124 and the RPM air gap has a slightly enlarged plenum over the standard RPM(I think, though I could be wrong on iths). So if an RPM fits then an 8124 should fit just as well, or with a bit of extra space. And if you have stud clearance problems, do what I do and just raise the back end of the hood

You shouldn't. I'm running a taller air cleaner and heavy duty engine mounts, so for me it's a tight fit, and I don't have the money to get a shorter air cleaner(wanna get the short K&N setup wuth the X-stream top)

Yea, my air cleaner is unique. The inside diameter is 8" and the outside diameter is 9"......the K&N air filter I bought fits those dimensions but is 0.25" taller than my previous one....which will make it 2" tall. I'll have to go buy a longer screw.
