change oil, no oil pressure
so i get up and change my oil this morning b4 it gets hot and then i start it up and everything sounds fine then all of a sudden i hear KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK except alot faster so i am wondering if something just decided to break or i just got a bad oil filter i have gotten one b4 cept it was a fram cause i have zero oil pressure
You have to put the plug back in!!!
Just kidding,,, I can not understand how a new filter would full obstruct the oil flow in an engine, but I think I would change it anyway prior to restarting the engine.
If somthing broke right after starting your motor, this would be quite a coincidence, but it is possible....

when i change my oil i usually per load the filter a bit by adding about 1/4 qt maybe more of oil in it. It still takes about 5-6 seconds to build pressure. I usually fire it up for about 3 seconds then shut it down and let it sit for about 30 sec and then fire it up again and within another 3 seconds it builds pressure. It has never knocked.
Try again real qucik if you dont see pressure after 3 seconds shut it down
then try again for another 3 sec if still no pressure then I dont know what to tell you.
the dipstick says full and the car is level?

first thing is the filter, doesnt matter who made it sometimes everybody screws up.
second thing, +80 million for preloading the new filter with as much oil as you can get in without spilling when you reinstall

Given the oil change, a hard knock would lead me to believe there might be aspun main bearing. If you ran it too long with no oil pressure the bearing may have got hot and seized. You might be able to start it briefly, but if the knock continues, shut it down within a few seconds. You might be looking at a rebuild on the bottom end. I wouldn't drive it until you are sure what the problem is.
