wrecked '66 fastback
Hey all -
I have a 1966 C code fastback that I wrecked about 9 years ago and I was hoping to get opinions about it. It's pretty beat up, I hit the center divider on the I-5 freeway in Los Angeles at 50MPH or so and then was also hit in the back by a truck. I have been slowly taking parts off of it originally to sell what I don't need and keep what I do, but I spoke with a Mustang guy here locally and he suggested that I straighten my car and re-do it, so now I'm wondering what would you guys do? The car has lots of good parts that can be sold, or should I work on getting it fixed?
I have a few pictures, but the forum isn't letting me upload them. They can be viewed here:

Thanks for your input.

It did hurt. It was such a fun car. It was my first car.
All the sheet metal is fixable or replaceable, so is the glass - only the windshield is cracked, the motor is re-buildable, the interior is all OK except a small "tweak" in the dash from the steering column being knocked to the side. The biggest problem it has is a bent frame in both front and back.
It's probably worth more in parts, but it's nice to dream.

for the money youd put into it to get it straight you could get one of those dynacorn fast backs, but i can understand the sentimental value in THAT car. it looks too far gone to me.[

well ... you do have some options:
[ol][*]Fix it it will take time and money ... have you got both?[*]Sell it as is on eBay or craigslist ... straight forward, you do not have to spend anytime pulling parts[*]Take it apart and sell parts ... will require some labor but you may make the most out of it[/ol]
so, it is really up to you ...

I'm confused, what are you wanting to do with the car? Do you just want to part it out or are you wanting to restore it and then sell it? Do you want to keep it?
If you plan on selling the car I'd just sell it as is or part it out, I really don't think you could make a profit off of it if you restore it and then sell it.

If the roof is buckled strip it and dump the rest at the scrap metal yard.
Sorry if that sounds rough.
This is of course coming from the guy who drove his under a tractor trailer at 70 and fixed....but then again...it wasn't as damaged as yours and if my roof had been buckled...I would have followed my own advise posted above.
