Ground Effects
http://www.mustangsplus.com/tech/groundfx/index.html
im putting on my fiberglass pieces to my mustang as i wait for my new door hinges to come back from rebuilding...and im interested in molding in my ground effects pieces...
i assume you just screw them on like usual, kitty hair the seam, sand, regular filler to smooth everything out...prime...block and then thats that...
is that how it would be done???
also, as you can see in the pictures on the link...the long piece that goes on the rocker panel is one solid piece...if i was to mold it in...how would i ever take off my fenders...assuming i may want to at some point in the future....? take it off as one huge piece...? i dono if that world work...
cut it int two pieces?
need some ideas....

I don't think you woul want to mold those on.
IMO, you would be better off living with the seams,,,,
It is my understanding that fiberglass/plastic does not "mold" as if it were one piece well, due mainly to the different rates of thermal expansion / contraction. If you try to make it look like one piece (the metal and the fiberglass) you will probably end up with cracks in the filler/kitty hair.

i see...ive just seen other stangs with the smoothed to the body and was curious how it was done....
would you put these on before final paint or paint seperately and put back on?

I suppose that it could be done with plastic / fiberglass to the existing metal, with good results, it just goes against everything I have ever known about such things up untilright now.
I amstanding byfor "correction" though!

my flare are molded as well as my rear spoiler yes it will eventually crack but im ok with that what i did wac laid mat down then glassed the flare on let it dry featheres it out glassed the top feathered it out then smooth with filler but id look in to some panel bonding adhesive and id fiberglass over top of it to mold it all in

Its very easy - You just take all the pieces of the kit, put them back in the box they came in, and throw them in thegarbage can where they belong. [sm=trust_me.gif]

Sex appeal for low riders. You learn all the bumps and dips in your town. All the rail road crossings, speed bumps, crooked drive ways into fast food restaurants, pot holes, road kill (very dangerous - you go first), etc. There is a cure - a pair of Tommy Lift rams.
