does any one know what this is.... when i bought my motor it was in peices... so i dont know what it is and where it goes. its shaped like an allen wrench

oil pump drive.. turn the distributor upside down and look at the shaft, it will happen to be shapped the same as that rod. And from there it turns the oil pump

uhh.. i just saw your other post about your engine.. and that rod goes in from the bottom.. theres a small holethat you can see from the bottom where the distributor goes and the rod goes in there ( with the side that has the washer on it toward to intake) and then the other end goes into the oil pump and then you bolt on the oil pump..

so if you didnt put it in there your going to need to take off the oil pan and pump..
