1970 Coupe Availability
Quick question for all you Mustang historians...
I'm trying to find myself a 1970 coupe for restoration. I know the production numbers:
96,000 - Coupes (including Grandes)
94,500 - Fastbacks (including Mach 1's, and Boss's)
Basically they made as many coupes as fastbacks... But there are tons of fastbacks for sale, and hardly any coupes out there! Is there a reason why people are holding onto their coupes? Or is it just a car that isn't as desireable so they sit behind the barns?

Yeah, I think you may have something there. They don't sell nearly as well as the sportsroof models. Or it could be the coupe went to the crusher faster than the sportsroof because it wasn't as valuable and people didn't keep them updated or maintained. Don't know. Just a wild guess.
keep looking or make your search wider have you tired http://ww2.collectorcartraderonline.com/
I have a 69 coupe (very very similiar.) You just have to look hard for them. They are a little harder to find but they are also cheaper. Doesnt really make sense with supply and demand but I guess the demand is as low as or lower than the supply
