Windshield Removal Process?
I would like to remove the front and rear windows so so that I can sand/prime/paint. Is there some trick that I need to know in order to remove them? Obviously the rubber gaskets are old and dry. Start by sliding a putty knife between the body and the glass? Does the trim around the windshield come out at the same time? The glass is in perfect shape and I don't want to end up yelling CRAAAAP! Thanks.
PS. I found a good windshield installation page, but nothing for removal.

I have always found that it is pretty cheap to hire a mobile glass man to come on-site to r & r glass.
Besides,,,, if they break the glass, they will replace it....
OH SNAP!!

Remove the trim carefully with the proper tool so you don't bend them. Use a sharp razor knifeand cut away the seal. Do this by sticking the tip of the knife between the outside of the glass and the seal. After you've cut all the way around, the glass will lift right out with little to no effort. Remove remaining seal and bedding compound and you're good to go.
Ok, I got the widshield off relatively easily. I found a pretty good tutorial and schematic of the windshield clips online. Since I didn't have the proper windshield clip removal tool, I took an old putty knife/scraper and cut out a notch in it as described in the tutorial. That worked rather well to dis-engage the clips.
