Yes it works. Now, Glen - go to your room. It's late and you've had to much to drink.

I will do just that. I just get tired of kids trying to tell me that 3 point seat belts are best hooked up to the damn roof of the car when there are no other examples of that type of hook up in the modern car world except with the restomod Mustangers. Night all. Sweet dreams.

FWIW, my kids' safety seats state that it is important that the upper shoulder straps be adjusted level or just above the shoulders, never below. The bottom line is that I don't think anybody has done crash testing on their early Mustangs and we're not kids,so ...
Exactly....
The first choice was finding that optimal height along the B pillar to mount the shoulder pivot. I went to the wrecking yard to look at fastbacks with their interiors gutted.

So, to install a strong enough pivot point, one would have to fashion a mounting structure that came out to the edge of thefiberglas covering, and bolted to the substructure. Given the distance (moment), and the thickness (or thin-ness rather) of the underlying metal, I didn't see a good solution.
So the roof mount was the next best choice....(again, opinion)

I'll just nail it to the rear glass...that should be about the correct height, right?
In reality though, I've decided what I'm going to do. I'm going to mount everything but the third point, and then sit in it and have someone hold it at the different positions, while I move around (doing things I normally would do in a car, such as rolling down the window, or reaching over to the glove box, etc. etc. ). I'll then go ahead and do it, and let you guys see the results.

Didn't we go thru this same seat belt crap a month or two ago. Glen, this and the other post had just about all the pros and cons covered and both need to considered for the FAQ section.
