Stupid Question....
I was looking for a 1967 mustang fasbackto restore. Iwanted to spend no more than $2,000 but i cant find any in that price range, so my question is, is there a kit out there that you can convert a coupe to a fastback? Any help is appreciated.
The parts alone to convert a coupe to a fastback will be in excess of $2000, sorry. There are many reproduction67/68 fastback parts that mostly carry premium prices. For $2000, you'll be able to get a project coupe in need of a fair amount of work.
Good luck!

theres not a kit, you just take what you need off of a fastback but it really isnt worth it, its A LOT OF WORK, you need a lot of tools, and if you dont no how to weld you'll need someone to do it for you, which will cost WAYY over 2,000. so just keep looking for a fastback.
Keep up the hunt, one will pop up sooner or later. Currently you have a narror budget to work with given the market value of these cars. Not to say that it can't be done, but if you find something decent, it will probably cost more than that. Convertinga Coupe to a Fastbackwill be more costly than finding an original. "Dynacorn" has a repop of the 67 Fastback for about 16K. No hood or fenders, but comes with a deck lid and doors. That andseveral thousand more, and you will have a car.Happy hunting.
well me and my friend turned his 65 coupe into a fastback, we found a wreck 66 fastback ina junkyard and cut the roof and door jams off along with the top half of the quarters, it came out pretty good, but still doesnt look 100% like a true fastback.
if i were you i would just save up the money and buy the fastback to restore, it will well worth the time

Thanks for the input, i've only been looking for about two months so i'm not discouraged,YET. I just keep hoping when i drive through the country that there's a cheap mustang out there but no luck with that so far.
Im looking for a rust bucket and still the cheapest i can find is $3,500 should i fork over the extra cash, or keep looking?
