Default A/C price

What would be a good price be for an A/C system out of a 72 Turino be ithas everyting except the hoses. The engine is a 351c if it matters. The A/C still runs on the R-12 stuff.

r12 is over 100 bucks a 12oz can and normal ac system uses 4 to 5 cans and a system that old cant be retofited with r134a it will last maybe 2 months and lock up the compressor.your better off buying a aftermarket unit they fit great come with everything you need even a few look dead like the factory units.

the engine does matter they had different mounting brackets.why put and old system on if you are going though the trouble buy a complete kit that has 134 freon it will be much cheaper in the long run.
good luck

R134 is cheaper and safer, but R12 can damn near freeze a cup of water. R12 definately outputs a colder temperature.

yes r12 is colder but most people cant afford it would you spent more on fieon then you did for the whole car.bumblestang most systems older then 95 if you convert them they last a month maybe 2 then locks up the compressor.
