they were the vanilla generation IMO
but to their defense they are plentiful, cheap, light, and there are tons of parts available for them

The Fox body mustangs were based on the Fairmont body. They are a little bigger than the Mustang II's but weigh less. You could get either a 302 2 barrel enginej or a 4 banger.

Probably so. The Foxes have an even worse reputation than the II's.
You don't see any II's or Foxes in between Ol' Yeller and Big Red do you?

Actually, the SN-95 (1994-2004) was based on the Fox platform. Mustangs weren't completely weaned off of it until 2005.
