In germany I had a 86 bmw 325 with no power steering. And now my mustang has no power. As long as the car isnt a tank, I prefer the manual steering. Plus, it is a small amount of exercise daily
When I was stationed in Germany I had a 316. The Krauts didn't export them to the states, so you aren't going to see anything below a 318 here. That little stripped down 4 banger would keep up with the big boys on the autobahn though. No air, no power anything. I really miss that simplicity. I think we Americans are just too spoiled to go back to the little 4 banger cars that run like striped apes.
Mine was pretty much a stripper also, but with a I6. The mustang is my favorite car I have ever owned, but that beemer is a close 2nd.

I like no power steering. I like the feel of the car on curvy roads more. I feel more in control.
