Default Why does my heat suck?

It's been below 0 here in Jersey, which wouldn't normally keep me from driving my Mustang. But I've been put out because the heat in my Mach 1 is practically non-existant. I haven't checked the heater core yet, but I know there aren't any leaks. The hoses running into it aren't leaking either. Blower works fine, but just pushes cool air through the vents. I can feel just a little bit of warmth in the air coming through the vent after the car is warmed up. Before I further investigate, anyone got any ideas as to why I'm not getting any heat?

It could be as simple as the air outside is just too cold. Below zero? Thats really cold. Try putting a peice of cardboard in front of your radiator.

How old is your heater core?

What temperature t-stat are you running? You'll need a 192 to get any heat with the outside air temp that low.

The T-stat may be stuck open. If everything is ok with the coolingsystem just use the cardboard like suggested above. I have to use that fix on my 69 Mach 1.

Use the cardboard and put a lemon on it. Inside joke.

Could it be the heater contol valve? It could not be opening up all the way or be clogged.

I'd put a 192 degree thermostat in it.

We can play this guessing game all week, especially since the guy with the problem forgot to participate in his own problem ...
