1966 2.3 Turbo Mustang
HA! I'm a big boy. I can take the heat. There will be pictures pretty soon of a rough in job before I take everything back out, and start the rebuilding process. I only wish I were doing this swap to a 66 fastback instead, but i think the coupes can look tough as well.

I think it is safe to say that you are the first person on this board attempting such a feat.
Don't take it personally if your proposal is met on thisboardwith snickers, ridicule or disdain. This is the non-conventional swap of non-conventional swaps. The good news is that I believe there is an SVO section on this board that probably can share a wealth of information and would probably really appreciate the project.
If you're still around, post pics of the swap and let us know how it goes.

I am in the process of putting a 2.3 Turbo engine, and T-5 in my 1966 Mustang. Just made my mounts, and did a test fit. Anyone else out there done this swap? I'd like to see some pictures.--Jeremie

Thank you for asking this thread to be moved. Now, where is JamesW? Calling for JamesW to move this thread to the useless. Hey James, where are you?

Seriously, I don't know how we could help.
Between you and me Glen (and the others reading
), I'm a 'your car your choice' kind of guy, but my first thought when reading the post was, "you want to do what?"

This is going to be a mild engine build. I will use the stock crank, and rods, but will have a set of J.E. forged pistons with a 30 overbore. I have a front mount intercooler that will be up front, and I am going to run 20psi on a T3/T4 turbo. I'm not looking for the most radical Mustang. I just want something fun to drive, and be able to go cross country if desired. Interior of the car will be all original, as well as the exterior. I'm also not going to do any cutting to the body of the car just in case I want to put an original motor in it someday, or someone wants to buy it to do a full restore.

What does this "restomod" mean? I already have the T3/T4 turbo.

This sound like a very interesting swap. Not one I would make but I would definitely spend some serious time checking one out at a show. Good luck with this swap and I am looking forward to the pics. You going to do any custom work to the interior or body? How about a custom hood scoop based of a 65 cyclone design and make it functional..
I will have a big front mount intercooler. The car itself, I am going for a very tasteful, clean, factory, stock look. The interior will be original, and exterior will look like a base model all except for some thick *** wheels.
