New 68 owner
Front suspension was done by the previuos owner and is in pretty good condition (though the front left tire rubs against the front fender when I back up and turn the wheel clock wise, need to look at that).
Now sure how this might work, but what I was going to do once I selected a shop to do the work is to go over the car with them, get a list of body panel they recomment replacing and if its a bolt on piece I will do the dis-assembly. If it needs to be cut out... thats not my cup of tea. I will aslo strip out the interior and possibly even the wiring (not sure if they can strip a car to bare metal with wiring in place). I noticed that most of the interior is not painted, just bare metal, i'd like to have it painted to help preserve it.
I would get them to assemble all the body so it aligns right, but I would put the interior back togeather myself, do the wiring and such.

From the limited knowledge I have gathered by looking at those two pictures combined with what you have stated here, I would guess that the car might not be too bad rust wise if a PO has not "hidden"lots ofexterior rust damage.
But we do need pictures....

yeah the 2 photos from what i can tell most of that rust is just surface rust easy to fix.theres only one spot rust is a huge paint the cowl vent by the windsheild wipers theres holes in the cowl pour water in them holes if it comes out in the floor of the car its rusted out.normaly it should come out under the passenger side fender by the door.cowl vent repair is fun take the windsheild out and 100 something spot welds to cut.

POR 15 is a rust eliminator or encapsulator. It turns rusty metal into good metal and stops the rust from getting worse. That is the first thing you should do, then wait a week or so to start stripping that car. If you can't do it yourself, it needs to go to a shop and be completely stripped to determine the rust damage. I am seeing a lot more damage than the previous posters are seeing because if you see it outside the paint, it is twice as bad underneath the paint.
