A number of guys have 17" wheels on this forum. I personally like the 16's better but that is just my opinion. You have to be careful of rubbing issues. Checkout dodgestang's fitment guide in the FAQ section. Good luck!!

I have the same design Cragar SL's on my 67. They have 245/45/17 on them. I love them...go with it.

Either 15 or 16" wheels for the 65-66, then with the 67 and up you can go as high as 17's.

17x7 with 225/45/17 tires are probably as big as you want to go. I have 17x8 with 245/45/17 tires and I had to roll the fenders to get clearance.
edit.... and I have 4.5" back set on my wheels too. Depending on the brakes I believe a person could go all the way to a 4.75" back set before getting into the control arm.
