engine dying on 67 mustang
my car will start and after about 5 seconds it will just die.
the only time it will stay on is if i keep my foot on the gas.
and if i take my foot off the gas when im stopped at a red light or putting it in reverse, etc it will die.
do i need to change the throttle cable, does it have to do with my throttle at all?
any advice would help at all.
thank you

You probably have a carburetor that's plugged up with old gas. Get a couple of spray cans of Berryman's B-12carburetor cleaner, remove the carburetor and spray away. Clean the outside and spray some B-12 into to fuel inlet with the carb up side down then remove the top carefully and spray some more inside. Let the spray sit, it will loosen up the gunk. Be careful, it tastes like crap. Finally, spray some into the jets with the plastic extension. That may do it.
