Default New doors hung

I hung my right door shell from california mustang today it required 5/16 bolts so i had to go to ace. The door lines up very well with the rear quarteri have to play with the hinges and may have to shim the bottom hinge so i can closethe lower gap at the bottom, i have gotten the door to match up with the rear quarter pretty darn goodso i know its just a matter of endless fidgeting with the hinges....

Looks good! Correct me if I'm wrong but I've noticed most (if not all) 64-68 mustangs tend to have a large gap between the bottom of the door and rocker. At least the gap seems bigger than any other gap on these cars!

Were you going to replace the data/warranty plate on the driver door? If so, do you know who stamps the numbers? (I know the plates themselves can be purchased)

are you replacing both doors or just the passenger side? Fitting is hard on these cars because of all the body lines. Took me a long time to fit my drivers side quarter panel so that it would match up to the door.

I am replacing both doors and both rear quarters so if i can get the doors to line up near perfect to the rear quarters when i go to replace them i can tweak them to better fit the new door shells sound like a plan eh?

when you installed the doors, did you use any special tools to align them? also, did you have the front fenders off the car? since you have a good looking final result, I am curious in the methodology ... Thanks

I had the front fenders off the car when i did it, i first took the hinges and bolted them to the door then took the door attatched with the hinges and bolted it to the car. it took me about 1 hour and40 minutes to play with the door and kind of get it right i took pieces of wood and used it as a shim to level the bottom part of the door out and i just basically had to take a lot of time and twist the door this way and that way,I came back 3 hours later and looked and saw alot i didnt see before.
