69 coupe alignment
i am havig trouble getting my 69 aligned.
i have converted it to full manual steering, new upper and lower control arms, 1"sway, new tie rods, and i just installed a bump steer kit. i have 17" rims off of a 95 mustang. i did use the 1.25" spacers to get them to fit on the 69.
a guy at a local shop has a 69 f/b with the same setup and has no problems.
it seems no shop around here, at least big-o and les schawb can get it right.
thats the only thing keeping me from driving it again.
any suggestions?

what are you having trouble with ? camber, caster or toe? there is alot of things you can do at home to get it close and hopefully you can find someone that can lock it in. what i done is get your caster ( wheel in relationship to center of frnt suspension) right first, basically just measure wheel base and make match from side to side with the frnt wheel slightly frnt of center in the wheel opening. next set camber (inward or outward tilt in the wheel ) see if you can find a hub gauge (might be kinda hard but maybe) or you can use a level (i know not a great tool) but it will get you close. you would want the bubble of the level as close to center as possible or slightly tipped in. next set toe on the car best way to start with toe is to sight down the car looking at the back wheel and adjsut the tie rod end so that the frnt wheel appears to be in line with the back wheels, then take a measurement off the tread of the tire on the frnt and back side of the tire, if there is a difference figure what wheel might be the worst and adjust but split the measurement, so if you have a 1/8" difference between frnt and back measurements adjust 1/16" becasue the frnt and back move equally. hopefully this will get you close enough for the alignment shop toget you in specs
