so i have a 2007 v6 as my daily driver... and me and my dad are planning on getting a classic mustang to restore and modd..... i was thinking off the 1968 mustang coupe.. but i drove passed a parked one and it seems kind of small ? and someone on the other forum says they look kind of whimpy compared to the fastbacks

The classic mustangs are considerably smaller than their newer counterparts to be sure.
As far as a notchback being wimpy, I beg to differ. Some of thephatest looking Mustangs I have ever seen were 1st gen notchbacks. Don't worry about what other people think or say when it comes to choosingyour car. If it makes you grin like an idiot when you look at it then it must be doing something right.

I like any classic Mustang year from 1965-73. I do however prefer the 65-66 models. And, as far as a choice between the fastback and the coupe (notchback) I'll take the coupe over the fastback any day.

i also do love any mustang 64-73, i especially am fond of the 69-73's and even more fond of the 69/70's, if i could choose betwen a coupe/fastback/convertable, i dont know whatd i do. all are awesome

Define small? On the outside they are not a very big car, but there is plenty of room on the inside in the front seats. I am 6' 3" and weigh about 300# and I fit in my Mustang with no problems. Also the "smaller" a car is the lighter it is and thus the faster it can go 
As far as a coupe vs. a fastback, fastbacks have become so expensive in the last few years (even the unrestored ones) that a person can buy a fastback and end up with no money to put in to it where as if you get a coupe chances are better that you will have the funds to work on it.
