Every time I hear "stang", I think of a POS 4-cylinder fox body with a primered aftermarket ground effect kit and a huge 3-level spoiler on the back.

Needless to say, I don't like hearing it.

The 49er training camp is located at 4949 Centenial Blvd in Santa Clara, about 1/2 mile from where I keep my Mustangsand has been for several years. John York, husband to Denise Debartolo who took over from her brother, owns the 49ers thru her. 'Fricso' has procrastinated for a longtime and Candlestick Park is falling apart. There is room here in Santa Clara and I'm all for it. I used to take my Mustangs out for their weekly run on Mondays and I would see Coach George Seifert (he's been gone a long time) and other 49er players jogging. There are a few that live in the new houses nearby. Even now, when Idrive around, I see some of the new guys doing the jog thing - I wave, they wave back. I really don't want to disturb them, so they can beup to WHIP THE COWBOYS.

Yeah. The guy doing my body work right now reminds me of that one every time I go in.

when people say stang i usually relate it to 16 year olds.....when people say rustang i usually relate it to people who are too poor to have a nice car and probably drive a chevette or have never worked on their own cars ever in their lives.

JBradley500,
I like what you said your style- (except your lack of capital letters).

Maybe I'm just a little too finicky. I absolutely HATE the term stang. It's almost like whoever is speaking is too lazy to say it correctly. To me it's a derogatory term rather than a term of endearment. I don't care if you call it " the mach " , "themoney pit" or "my pretty pony". Hell , you can even call it "the Mustang" if you like. I do not like to hear "land yacht " or " STANG". I didn't even mind the little old man and woman asking what a " mach "was. They were in their 70's at least and had never heard of a mach1. They were driving a Toyota so I'm not surprised.

I guess it's true , to each their own. I just think they're cheapening the breed. After all , we have enjoyed 43 years of uninterrupted pony pedigrees. Some a little less fearsome than others and some certainly less powerful , but Mustangs just the same. No other manufacturer brand can lay claim to that kind of longevity. BUT, I've yet to see one roll off the line with the phrase STANG on it. Please say it right, or buy yourself a Chebby.

JMHO, Dean

My boss the die hard chevy guy calls my mustang much worse. I refer to my car as stang. I dont refer to my wife as wi. I do call her the old ball and chain. I can usually get a rise out of that one.
