Is it just me or does anyone else hate the phrase " Stang " ? My car is a Mustang. It doesn't say Stang anywhere on it. That's akin to calling your wife your wi. Maybe I'm just nuts or maybe I was out in the shop a little too long today. Anybody else feel the way I do ? Dean

I guess everybody is different about the short term Stang instead of saying Mustang. First and foremost, it's a Ford. I hear Stang as a term of endearment rather than a lazy way of saying Mustang, so it doesn't bother me.

It's a little too cutesy for my taste, but it doesn't really bother me, either.

According to the back of mine, I have a... MU TANG. :-)

People from San Francisco hate it when people say "'Frisco", too.

Ha! That's the same reason my wife calls mine the _USTANG! (Of course, it all depends if you're looking at the left fender or right fender.)

Haha, yea the back of mine says MUSTA G, the N fell off when I washed it, and don't know where it went to.

As for "Stang" it doesn't bother me, most of my friends refer to the car as that, so I guess to each their own right?

I prefer Mustang, Fastback or Hi-Po. 'Stang' is just a little too much of a slur.
And itIS 'Fricso', for those of us in Santa Clara, future home of the 49ers whose training camp is just about ready to get going. The press tents are up, the portable bleachers are installed and I am ready for some Football. (And for Bonds to pass Hank's record just to get it over with.)

As long I know what they're talking about, I don't care what they call it.

BTW: I had a FO D for many years before I got around to getting an R for the hood.

Do you guys already have a stadium in place, a deal lined up or is this pure speculation? BTW, I thought the 49ers camp was in Stockton as I'm pretty sure I saw something to that effect painted on a water tower.

Oh yeah, I prefer Mustang to Stang, Corvette to Vette (my friend had a Vette ... a cheVETTE ) but prefer POS to Camaro.[sm=joke.gif] For the record, Barry Who (get on with it and let history speak for itself) and I am ready for some football as well (DirecTV, Sunday ticket, Superfan and hi-def plasma waiting somewhat patiently. Beer fridge never has an offseason [sm=icon_guiness.gif]). Go Vikings and anybody playing the Raidersor Rams!

Maybe I'm weird. To me, a quick phrase like "Hey, check out the Stang!" sounds fine. Saying something like, "I just found a 1969 Stang at the junkyard with a 427 SOHC!" doesn't.
