Fastback door trim sealer
Does anybody know of a source for the flat ribbon type sealer that goes between the weatherstrip channel and the stainless decorative trim around the upper doors on an early fastback? It looks to be similar if not the same materieal as the strip caulk but it is definitely shaped differently. I guess if I can't come up with something better, I can probably lay two or three rows of strip caulk.
Oh yeah, will two tubes of sealant be enough to do a front and rear glass install on a '65 fastback?
Thanks,
Jeff

Two tubes of 3M 08008, black, for the front and three morefor the rear window, maybe four, and that's not my installation requirements, that's the shop I had do it.
The sealant in question is - ta ta - strip caulk (aka monkey s**t, ask boogerschnot).

Monkey s**t is a vile sealant used to keep watertight integrity on a ship, especially electrical cables that go between decks. It's the one tradeoff I accepted instead of joining the guys that are engaged in digging in dirt.

I spent my Nam days playing an O2C Bairtone horn in the 214th Army band in Anchorage, Alaska. Better than going to Nam as a leatherneck and getting shot at.
CJ Pony parts has it. Don't have the part # handy but they were the only Mustang vendor to carry it. It's not exact but close enough; I just used it last night. Adhesive (very strong) on one side, closed foam strip that's just enough to do both sides.
