Here are the parts/modifications I recommend in the order of importance

I. GET A PERFORMANCE ALIGNMENT

I take a print out of the fallowing to the alignment shop, because they will try and do it to fords specifications

Please align to these specs “1967-1970 Mustang, Falcon & Cougar Performance Alignment with Shelby dropâ€.

These specifications are in order of importance.

1. NO more than .25 degrees difference between driver’s side and passenger’s side.

2. +2.0 to +3.5 degrees caster.

3. -.5 to 0 degrees camber. No positive camber, please. There is no problem having a slight variation from driver’s side to passenger’s side to account for the crown in the road.

4. 1/16" to 1/8†toe in

If you run into any problems attaining these specs, please call me (your phone number here).

II. UCA drop
See my web page onthe subject

III. Roller Spring perches
Make your own, buy them from ORP, or you can get them from me.
roller spring perch page

IV. Adjustable strut rods
Make your own, or buy them from Rosehill performance parts
Adjustable strut rod page

V. 1" sway bar
VI. Slightly better than stock springs and performance shocks such as KBY
IMHO a beter ride that still handles well can be atained with softer springs and performance shocks rather then 620 springs

VII. GET A PERFORMANCE ALIGNMENT!
GET A PERFORMANCE ALIGNMENT!!
GET A PERFORMANCE ALIGNMENT!!!
GET A PERFORMANCE ALIGNMENT!!!!
GET A PERFORMANCE ALIGNMENT!!!!!

This is the basic formula for a car that handles like it is on rails. Also for more understanging of suspension and handling check out my Alignment, Handling, and Bump-steer web page

I didn't see the part of the post about the rear suspension. 4 link is good for a racer, but not for a daily driver. Ususlay for a daily driver ride quality is as important as handling. Stick with the stock set up or upgrade to IRS

you seem to know alot about the suspension set up so let me ask this , when i accelerate the car pulls slightly to the left enought to notice, when i let off the gas it pulls to the right, now what i am wondering is, how is this even possible with out something not being severly broken or a bushing just gone i have the car up on jack stands now and cannot find anything loose.

it is bad enough i can go back and forth between lines just by plating with the gas petal, i was thinking play in the steering and just torque is moving the wheels slightly, or maybe the rear end moving slightly to change the angle! who knows

haha 2 mustangs with suspesion issues

For the fronts on my car I replaced the steering components with a flaming river rack and pinon setup and it handles really well... I changed the springs to have a one inch drop and kept the towers. Replace common things like shocks and bushings. I went to disk brakes all the way around to increase stopping power. Stopping is the most important thing to me. I have not done much to the rear but I did add a ford nine inch.

First thing I would check it the strut rod bushings. If they are shot acceleration and stopping will cause the rubber to compress, which in turn changes caster, and a change in caster will always cause the steering to pull. I would also look at the LCA where they bolt to the frame. The end of the LCAs some times start to compress over time which causes them to move back and forth during acceleration and breaking. As far as power steering are you going for stock or rack and pinion? If you have any other questions, or if there is anything else I can help with please don't hesitate to ask.

if you do go with coilovers in the front global west are the best out there if not opentrackerracingproducts.com has the best oem style parts out there. for a 4 link http://www.stang-aholics.com/shop196...usp/4_link.htm they have a kit with everything welded to a 9 inch housing. best power steering is a rack and pinon im using the tcp one and love it theres many other companys out there tho.
