I've go thte type of compressor that slides in the middle of the spring. I go the spring out. While undoing the compressor (to let go of the spring) two of the claws slipped. It's loaded. any tips on how to deal with this!!

Honestly I would pick it up with a broom handle and take it to a lidded trash can and buy a new spring. It is loaded, as you mentioned, and it just ain't worth it. Not what you want to hear, but what I think is right.

Some people would try to wrap wire around and around, through the spring, without touching it, on both sides of it, and then start messing around, but I wouldn't. that's just me though.

Good luck, and be safe!!!

Try tightening it up a little then undo the opposite side. Work it back and forth.

Yep, put it in a big trash can with a lid and stay away from it. That is a loaded gun that's about to go off.

I got it!! Thanks you guys! I compared the coil in distress to the coil I already took out and noticed it had about an inch to go. I placed a solid metal rod perpendicular to the coil so it wouldn't go flying. Reviced it. and kepp loosening up. On the third turn, it shuttered just a bit (nothing compared to my Mossburg 12 g!!!!). Still, the situation had my blood flowing!

Again, thanks!! Now here comes the Grab a Tracks!

I can now breathe a sigh of relief that I don't have to attend a funeral of a fellow Mustanger.
