Default AOD and headers

I'm having some trouble finding reasonably priced (under $400) long tube headers for the 89 5.0L with AOD I'm putting in my 69 Mustang. I've already talked to Patriot and Hedman and they weren't any help. I see that JBA has some but they are priced out of my reach.

I'll go with some shorties if I have to but I would prefer long tubes. Anyone been down this road already? If you used shorties, which did you go with? How about tri-y headers, what will fit?

Pretty much a foregone conclusion Jeremy that long tube tri-Y's will give you the best HP and response on your year car.

I'm open to long tube tri-y's or individual runner long tubes, whichever will fit best for the money. Since this will be a daily driver, I'm also concerned about the ground clearance.

How does the size of an AOD compare with a C6? Will headers for one work with the other?

Thanks,

Jeremy
