I want to know what emissions and pollution devices or parts were used for the later years of the 351w like 72 ...

I want to know how to get that baby to about 350 hp and 400 lb tq min .. .

Soaring had said something about removing the pollution control junk... but i wouldnt have a clue ..

Smog pump, EGR, any of that crap, get rid of it. As far as power, you can get 350/400 from a 351 eithout even trying. Put some good lightweight pistons/rods in it, good heads(AFR 185's, Canfield 192's etc) intake, exhaust and roller camand it'll put out over 400hp EASY. If you wanna do something different(slighty more expensive but monster power), get CHI 3V heads and intake, then you can put out over 500hp on a daily driver pump gas 351, stroke it to 408 and it'll climb past 600hp, and you can do that turning 6,000rpm, maybe less

EGR stands for exhaust gas recirculation. About 15% of the exhaust gas is recirculated to be burned again, and in the earlier years it caused a loss in power. In the past, a meaningful fraction of car owners disconnected their EGR systems. Some still do either because they know EGR reduces power output, causes a build-up in the intake manifold in diesel engines, or know that the environmental impact of EGR's outweigh the NOx emission reductions. Disconnecting an EGR system is usually as simple as unplugging an electrically operated valve or inserting a ball bearing into the vacuum line in a vacuum-operated EGR valve. In most modern engines, disabling the EGR system will cause the computer to display a check engine light, but that won't happen with your old Mustang.

AFR 185's or something similar, decent pistons, and something like a Comp 276HR cam, with a good intake/exhaust and you'll have an easy 425hp. Give it some 3.55 gears and it'll run mid 12's all day long on street tires, and drive well on the street.

well im getting some 70's heads ..
im looking to be reasonable with pricing .. i looked that ish up .. and that thing was in the $600's ...
$200 would be nice for a cam ... if theres something like that out there.
going edelbrock performer for intake and switching to 4v and probably a holley 600 .

Stock 70's heads aren't gonna make you any power. You'd be hard pressed to even get 350hp with a mild/moderate streetable cam. Heads will make or break any engine, and I can't express enough, if you want a performance engine you HAVE to pay for decent heads, otherwise you're just handicapping yourself big-time. If you're being price concsientious then at LEAST look into getting some GT40's or GT40P's, from the late model 5.0 Cobras/Explorers, you'll be much happier.
