Default 1966 1 barrel carb

I have a 1966 coupe 200 3spd manual with a ford 1-v carb.
does the vaccum line from the distributor go to the lower body
or in the carbspacer (as a friend says), If it goes in the
lower body then what is the 1/4 inch hold in the spacer for ?

Thanks

The 1/4" spacer is used for cold weather...the coolant circulates through it and warms up the air entering the intake, which results in better atomization of the fluid. The vacuum line goes into the carburetor, I think. But, i don't think it would matter if it was down on the intake, because it should be the same either way. There is a line coming out of a junction on the intake which goes to your transmission modulator.

It goes to the port next to the accelerator pump. You want it to pull vacuum but you do not want direct vacuum from the intake to the distributor because it will cause too much advance. If the other port you mention is direct vacuum than it is probably for the PCV valve
