66 brake booster help!
I'm having major brake problems. I took my 66' in for bad brakes. The shop told me I have a bad booster and the car would be done at the end of the day. A week later the car is not finished. The mechanic has tried 5 different boosters and 5 masters and I still don't have brakes. He says that I have proper vacuum but the peddle is still hard. Has anyone had or heard of this type of problem? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

First of all recheck the vacuum-line goint to the booster. If this is getting soft it will be sucked flat by the engines vacuum and not supply the booster with vacuum(OK,how about "sucking out the air from the booster"!)I have seen this on everal occasions. Do you have drum or disc brakes? OE-type booster? Does it brake like manual brakes now? I don't believe your mechanic has been given 5 bad boosters. Also check the vacuum-line's connection at the manifold,is it open or clogged?

Good luck!
