Default 66 Title

I just recently purchased a 1966 Mustang coupe and since my state (GA) does not issue titles for anything this old I only got a bill of sale. My question is does anyone know what happens when you move to another state that does require a title. Love to here if anyone has come across this and what did you do about it.

sorry, having a hard time believingyour DMV.have them show you the declaration that supports the rep's comments. Sounds to me like you've got a state employee that doesn't want to hassle with the paperwork, or is using hear-say instead of looking it up. I believe it's a simple as filing for a lost title.
Here in CA,if you DON'Twant to work, there's no better employer thenState of CA.

Salvage titles completely change the manner in which the car is classified, everything from insurance to smog, so try to avoid it if at all possible.

just thought of something, is your insurance company willing to accept a bill of sale as proof of ownership if the car is totalled and they have to pay on it?

Georgia does not issue a title to vehicles that are between 1963-1985. I will check into the Broadway title site and see if that is an option. I can get it registered and drive it, but when I move I have to have a title. Thanks for the info.

Yeah, the rednecks in Jawja have a problem understanding that not all people marry their cousins.

I would check.. GA does give you a title but they don't require it.. I have a title for my '65 mustang.. '84 Jeep CJ7, and '83 Chevy K10 Silverado...

YouCAN get a title from a bill of sale. GA will let you carry a bill of sale as a title on vehicles 85 and older. I can be done because I have done it. What county do you live in?
