red blue yellow black.. where do you guys get this stuff? the v8 engines in 65 were either blue ore gold..

 

You guys are so full of chit, I can't believe it. The 1965 Mustang had a black block with a gold air cleaner with a black snorkel. The valve covers were also gold., The oil cap was gold. and the dipstick handle was gold. Good grief, haven't you dunderheads learned nothing? Black block/heads. Gold valve covers and aircleaner w/black snorkel. Natural cast finish on exhaust manifolds.

i know for a fact that no v-8 engine was red or orange!!!

here i looked it up for yall=for 65 it was black block and heads with gold v covers and air cleaner, for 66-68 all engine parts were medium blue, 69-70 all engine parts are light blue, with exceptiones of hp engines but never orange on v-8's!!

 

here are the codes=

black=903
gold=908
light blue=958
drk blue=963
orange=912

 

The blue for the block, you have to mix it yourself. the ford blue is close , but it is to dark I think. It could but to light, But it is not the right color.

the 65 289 engine block, head,& intake manifold were originally black, valve covers & Air cleaner were Gold on 2bbl & 225hp 4 bbl engines. 66 went to all blue on same engines. Yes the 2bbl & 225hp 4bbl had heat risers from the exhaust manifold.
