Default 68 Mustang engine question

Just picked this up .. gonna try and secretly make a dialy driver out of it and give to the wife on here 40th birthday next June

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&sspagename=ADME%3AL%3AR TQ%3AUS%3A1&viewitem=&item=320142261340

my question is that.. my brother in law has been a backyard mechanic all his life, mostly big block chevy engines. he has already agreed to help w/ this project and has said we are going to put a V8 in.

Should i slow him down? and are there good internetlinks for Ford Engine rebuild for this car?

Thanks in advance

Then pull up a chair and learn. We have a few articles about this swap in the FAQ section above that you need to read first before you actually acquire the 6 banger car. My advice to you is to look for an original V8 to begin with. You will not only save yourself a lot of time, but you will save yourself a lot of money. Take a read here for some conversation on the issue. But. if you already have the 6 banger you have two choices. 1. Put the V8 in correctly by changing out all the suspension, transmission and rear components, or 2. Sell the 6 banger and get a realMustang V8 car.
